I'm a self-proclaimed Matcha Queen. The clean, green, caffeine always brightens my day with its emerald green hue and creamy, sweet taste. I can't get enough of it!

According to Tenzo, "The combination of caffeine with l-theanine in matcha green tea provides a stable and extended boost of energy without the anxious jitters or side effects like you might have previously experienced with coffee and energy drinks."
L-theanine is the secret, magical ingredient. So what is it? It's a rare amino acid found in high concentrations in matcha that crosses the blood-brain barrier and promotes a feeling of relaxation while simultaneously reducing both cognitive and physical stress. Not to mention, it boosts the production of alpha waves in the brain, which can increase mental clarity to a similar state of practicing yoga or meditation.
Matcha is also considered a superfood with the highest antioxidant rating. The ORAC (Oxygen Radical Absorption Capacity) test has proven that matcha measures 1,384 units of antioxidants per gram!
All crazy good health benefits aside, matcha also tastes amazing. Ceremonial-grade matcha tends to have a complex flavor profile with grassy notes and often a sweet nuttiness. This pleasant savory taste is called umami, which is one of our five basic tastes.
My favorite way to have matcha is in a latte with oat milk. It's as easy as blending 1 cup of oat milk, 1 teaspoon of matcha, and 1 tablespoon of honey, then drinking it in your favorite mug either hot or iced. Enjoy!
